MAGIC in Motion : Multiple Avenues of Growth to Influence Change

I'm Fenesha, a former middle school math teacher in Chicago who went on to be the bestselling author of The Equity Expression: Six Entry Points for Nonnegotiable Academic Success.

I enjoy empowering people and challenging the status quo. I expanded the walls of my classroom to reach thousands of educators nationwide as an instructional coach and designer of professional development. A decade at NWEA further solidified my influence, where I collaborated with education giants like The Algebra Project and Khan Academy.

My personal health journey fueled a commitment to women's health advocacy and a deep understanding of cyclical wellbeing – a lifelong practice informing how I design my life. For over two decades, I’ve guided self-care and healing experiences for women. In 2015, I founded the Chicago chapter of Women Grow to share alternative healing methods for women and nurture an entrepreneurial ecosystem. It was such a joy to connect diverse entrepreneurs, who went on to run the $2 billion dollar Illinois cannabis market.

Drawing from a background spanning science of mind to spiritual practices, I guide people toward mindful living. My strength lies in a nuanced approach to change– meeting people where they are. Today, you can meet me at FEOM Expressions, a haven for soulful wellbeing, artistic expression, and community connection on Chicago’s southeast side.

Three Additional Facts: I've got a bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s in instructional leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., a leading international service organization founded by educators. I will always have an Akita companion by my side.

Hello all, I'm Osceola. The maker in me has been a lifelong companion, yet understanding the full scope of my abilities as an artist came into sharper focus later in my career. Today, I'm a full-time artist with a flourishing art business.

Art was a constant companion during my time at Marshall Metro High School, a deeply enjoyed hobby. However, I hadn't yet grasped its potential as  a serious vocation or how to navigate that landscape. It was a journey of gradually recognizing my own artistic worth and the possibility of transforming passion into profession. I studied Studio Art at Southern Illinois University, with a minor in English and concentration in Creative Writing (poetry and short fiction). I also have a Master of Arts degree in Visual Communication Design from Purdue University.

Whether working with nonprofit organizations as a Graphic Designer or Event Photographer with Olaoss Studios (www.olaoss.com), or teaching art and design classes part-time, I am a happy mess of creative interests!

I've been a resident of the South Shore neighborhood in Chicago for nearly 25 years.  Along with being the Co-Owner of FEOM Expressions on Chicago’s southeast side, I am also the Principal Creative for Organic Mood Earthen Accessories (www.organicmood.com), where I create handmade jewelry using copper, wood, leather, and found and repurposed materials. You can check out my product line and other creations at FEOM Expressions.

Our core team members are Fenesha Hubbard and Osceola Muhammad. Fenesha is the business and programming lead. Osceola leads the creative direction and gallery curation.

FEOM embodies the delicate balance between inner peace and outward expression–

  • FE (First letters of Fenesha's first name) provides a steadfast foundation for personal growth; the compass that guides our journey of self-discovery.

  • OM (Osceola's first and last name initials) represents the boundless potential of the human spirit. It's the energy that ignites our creativity and inspires us to share our unique voices with the world.

FEOM Expressions invites you to harness this powerful synergy, fostering a harmonious blend of inner peace and artistic expression.
